Even despite the fall in world oil prices
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claims that the price of natural gas supplied to Ukraine from Russia in 2009 will be higher than the price for gas supplied in 2008.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Prime Minister claimed this to a press conference on Friday commenting on information of some experts and politicians, who said that in 2009 the price of Middle-Asian gas for Ukraine, considering the fall in oil prices, will be equal to that in 2008 - $179.5 for a thousand cubic meters, and even less.
“This information does not correspond to reality”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
The Prime Minister pointed out that, in line with the memorandum signed between her and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the price of natural gas supplied to Ukraine will rise proportionally to the European level during three years.
