First Ukrainian Music Festival in Sweden "Rethinking Europe: Ukraine" takes place in Stockholm

On October 23-24, 2017, the first Ukrainian Music Festival in Sweden "Rethinking Europe: Ukraine" was held in Stockholm under the auspices of the Ukrainian Institute in Sweden and support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Sweden, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

During two evenings 150 young talents from Ukraine and Sweden performed their musical pieces in two prominent music halls in Stockholm (Eric Ericsonhallen i Musikaliska). The following talents were present on the stage: the oldest and the most famous Ukrainian children's choir "Shchedryk", Swedish Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser Farsta, INSO Youth Orchestra from Lviv Philarmonic and young soloists – winners of international musical competitions. Among many of the Ukrainian children were those whose families had to flee the Eastern Ukraine following the Russian military aggression, reads the report.

The audience was presented a special piece by Andrea Tarrodi "Songs of the Sky" – Concertino based on a Ukrainian and Swedish folk melodies.
