The driver will pay just a $30 fine
The driver of a Lexus car, which blocked the traffic in the center of Kyiv, at Maydan Nezalezhnosti square, for 1.5 hour on June 16, will have a to pay a 225 hryvnias [~$30] fine.
The State Motor Licensing and Inspection Department in Kyiv said this to UNIAN.
According to the information of the department, road police drew up a protocol on the fact of violation in presence of the driver of a Lexus LX470 (Jeep) car. In line with the protocol, the driver, an unemployed Kyiv resident, will have to pay the 225 hryvnias fine for parking his car in the prohibited area.
As UNIAN reported earlier, at 15.30. on June 16, the movement of trolley buses on #16 and 18 routes in the center of Kyiv was blocked after a man violated traffic regulations and parked his Lexus car in a prohibited place. Road police employees failed to restore the traffic movement as the driver left his car and went away. Finally, at 16.55, angry trolley bus passengers themselves removed the car, after which the trolleybus movement resumed.
