Ukraine hopes this privatization will fetch $1 billion
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko will visit the Odessa Pre-Port Chemical Plant in the nearest future to discuss the conditions of plant’s privatization with its collective.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv after a government’s session today.
“In the nearest future I will personally visit the Odessa Pre-Port Plant, I will meet with the plant’s collective. We will again discuss in detail every provision on the contest on the plant’s sale. Should the collective have any remarks, we will again focus on them, for the collective to feel that after the plant receives a strategic investor, the collective’s life will be better”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
The Prime Minister disclosed that today the government adopted conditions of the Odessa Pre-Port Chemical Plant privatization.
“I think it will be the second demonstrative, clear, without any traces of corruption, fair privatization, carried out by the government of democratic forces”, the Prime Minister said.
Ukraine will try again to privatise the Odessa Pre-Port chemicals plant and hopes it will fetch $1 billion, the country`s privatisation authority said on Wednesday, according to Reuters.
Dmytro Parfyonenko, deputy head of the State Property Fund, said a starting price would be set at 3 billion hryvnias (about $600,000) at an auction due April 21-22, with authorities hoping to raise 5 billion hryvnias from the sale.
