"We'll very cautiously try to relaunch domestic flights this summer. The case with international air traffic is more complicated since the decision depends not only on us," he said during a morning TV show, "Snidanok z 1+1," on May 6, 2020, according to the Ukrainian TSN TV news service.

According to Kuleba, many European countries that are powerful tourist destinations "are racking their brains how to resolve this."

"No full-fledged resumption of international air traffic is expected this summer. For sure it won't be the case as it used to be," Kuleba said.

According to the minister, experts are coming to the conclusion the world will begin to recover from September.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a number of European countries are already planning to gradually resume flights this month, namely domestic flights. In particular, these are Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Germany, Latvia, and Poland.

At the same time, the world's largest airlines urge national governments to adopt common international safety standards for all airports.
