OSCE reports nearly 350 explosions in Donetsk region over weekend

In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded a similar number of ceasefire violations.

Monitors from the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine have recently registered about 345 explosions in Donetsk region.

"In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, including, however, fewer explosions (about 125), between the evenings of March 23 and 24, compared with the previous reporting period (about 220 explosions). Between the evenings of March 24 and 25, the SMM recorded a similar number of ceasefire violations, including, however, more explosions (about 220), compared with the previous 24 hours," the monitors said in an update covering the period between 19:30 on March 23 and 19:30 on March 25, which was posted on the OSCE's website.

In particular, the explosions were recorded near the Donetsk Filtration Station (15km north of Donetsk), the village of Shyrokyne (20km east of Ukrainian-controlled Mariupol), the town of Yasynuvata (non-government-controlled, 16km north-east of Donetsk), the village of Druzhba (government-controlled, 45km north-east of Donetsk), the village of Lebedynske (government-controlled, 16km east of Mariupol), the town of Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk), and the town of Avdiyivka (government-controlled, 17km north of Donetsk).

"In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded a similar number of ceasefire violations between the evenings of March 23 and 24 compared with the previous reporting period (one explosion). Between the evenings of March 24 and 25, the SMM recorded no ceasefire violations in Luhansk region," the update said.
