Militants fire ‘banned weapons’ at Ukrainian army near Mariupol

The militants of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic have resumed the use of 120mm mortars during their attacks on the village of Shyrokyne, the head of the press service of the Mariupol 'M' sector Dmytro Horbunov said on Wednesday, according to local news agency 0629.

"On April 8, from 1000 to 1800, the militants fired four times on the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces," he said.

"Two shots were fired from mortars. One of them, at 1642, was fired from 120mm mortars, which were prohibited under the Minsk agreements."

"The militants also fire small arms twice on the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces," Horbunov said.

"According to our information, there were no casualties among the personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces and the National Guard," he said.

"There were no flights of drones over the Mariupol 'M' sector," he said.
