More than 240 units of military equipment restored for army in last week

The maintenance department of the Ukrainian armed forces has restored 248 units of the military equipment over the last week, press secretary of the Ministry of Defense Viktoria Kushnir said at a press-conference on Tuesday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The maintenance department of the Ukrainian armed forces is continuing to restore military equipment for our army,” Kushnir said.

“Over the last week, they have restored 248 units of equipment. In particular, they restored 31 units of armored vehicles and 217 cars," she said.

Ukraine’s army inherited large amounts of military equipment on the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991, but years of underfunding, neglect and even theft have left much of it unusable or unavailable.

Other equipment, such as the T-72 main battle tank, is not used by the Ukrainian army but was put in storage. In addition, some of the country’s tanks were upgraded and sold to other countries.
