"Over the last day, the situation in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation was tense, but under control. The militants fired on our positions several times using weapons that were supposed to have been withdrawn from the front line under the Minsk peace agreements," Lysenko said.

"In particular, the militants fired 120mm mortars five times and 122mm artillery twice," Lysenko said.

"Our military comply with the Minsk agreements and fires in response only in the case of a real threat to the lives of our soldiers," he said.

"The hottest spots were the villages of Shyrokyne and Talakivka near Mariupol. Near Donetsk, it was the Donetsk airport area and the suburbs of the town of Horlivka. In the area of Luhansk, the militants fired on our positions near the town of Popasna and the Bakhmutka highway," Lysenko added.
