Two Ukrainian civil volunteers have been freed from militant captivity over the weekend, Vasyl Budyk, an adviser to the Ukrainian deputy defense minister, wrote on his Facebook page.
"Today, two of our volunteers – Serhiy Lozynskiy and Yulia Petrenko – have been released as a result of joint efforts by a combined group of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Defense Ministry's interaction department, and the Minsk group for humanitarian issues," Budyk wrote on Facebook.
Over 300 Ukrainians are held hostage at the moment. Russia is currently blocking the involvement of the Red Cross in the search of missing in action and identification of Ukrainians killed in the war in eastern Ukraine.
