SBU: Ukrainian MIAs held captive in Russia

Ukrainian soldiers, who were considered missing in action (MIA) in Donbas, are held in the Russian territory, Yuriy Tandyt, an adviser to the chief of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine, told an UNIAN correspondent.

Tandyt recalled that 131 people were considered to be in the militant captivity in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and in the Russian Federation.

"We have preliminary information that in addition to these people, there are our heroes in the territory of Russia among 762 MIAs," he said.

"A certain number of our defenders were wounded then, and they were hospitalized to medical facilities of one of the Russian regions bordering with Ukraine. We hope that Russia, as a member of the Minsk agreements, will implement them [the agreements] and do everything possible to return them [the Ukrainian MIAs]," Tandyt said.
