Militants fire mortars, rocket-propelled grenades, small arms on Ukrainian fortified positions

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 47 times in the last day, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation wrote on Facebook early Tuesday.

"The situation was tense in the Donetsk sector. The pro-Russian separatists fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on our fortified positions near the towns of Maryinka and Avdiyivka, as well as the village of Pisky and the mine of Butivka," the press center said.

In addition, the situation again escalated in the village of Shyrokyne in the Mariupol sector. The enemy fired mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on the Ukrainian army positions there.
