No actual de-escalation in Donbas: militants use banned weapons against Ukraine forces

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 53 times in the past 24 hours, including with the use of the banned weapons, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) wrote on Facebook early Monday.

"The enemy fired small arms as well as 82mm and 120mm mortars on our fortified positions near the town of Krasnohorivka and the village of Zaitseve. The militants also fired mortars and heavy machine guns near the village of Mayorsk," the press center said.

The situation remains tense on the outskirts of the militant stronghold of Donetsk. The Russian proxies fired grenade launchers of different types and from small arms on the Ukrainian fortified positions in the towns of Avdiyivka, Maryinka, and the villages of Pisky, Opytne, and near the Butivka coal mine.

In the Mariupol sector, the enemy fired mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the village of Starohnativka.
