Militants attack ATO forces over 80 times in last day, use banned weapons

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine more than 80 times in the past 24 hours, using banned weapons, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) wrote on Facebook early Friday.

The enemy fired heavy machine guns on ATO forces in the village of Luhanske near the Svitlodarsk bridgehead.

Enemy grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms were on fortified positions of the Ukrainian forces near the militant stronghold of Donetsk, in the towns of Maryinka, Avdiyivka, and the villages of Pisky, Opytne, and Butivka coal mine. The Russian proxies also used mortars on Krasnohorivka, the press center said.
