Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the Donbas conflict zone in the last 24 hours, presidential administration spokesman for Anti-Terrorist Operation issues, Colonel Oleksandr Motuzianyk said at a briefing in Kyiv on Sunday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"In the last day, we lost two Ukrainian soldiers as a result of military clashes. It happened near the town of Avdiyivka after the enemy was firing 120mm mortars on our position," Motuzianyk said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 52 times in the past 24 hours, including 37 times in the Donetsk sector, 10 times in the Mariupol sector and five times in the Luhansk sector.
