One Ukrainian soldier was killed and four were wounded in fighting in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, according to Oleksandr Motuzianyk, presidential spokesman for ATO issues.
"There was one killed in action (KIA) and four wounded in action (WIA)," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Saturday, a UNIAN correspondent reported.
Motuzianyk expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased soldier.
As UNIAN reported earlier, combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 49 times in the past 24 hours.
