Russia's hybrid military forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 22 times in the past 24 hours, according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
"Main armed provocations along the entire contact line are now recorded only in certain areas. The Avdiyivka industrial zone and the outskirts of the village of Vodiane account for more than 60% of all the cases in the past day," the press service said.
Read alsoDonbas militants violate ceasefire 13 times on Aug 27In the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired grenade launchers and heavy machine guns twice near the Avdiyivka industrial zone in the evening and at night. In addition, enemy grenade launchers were used near the villages of Maiorsk and Luhanske. Given the threat to life, Ukrainian troops were forced to fire back in response to one of those attacks only once in the past day.
The ATO HQ also reported that the Russian occupation forces had repeatedly resorted to heavy machine guns near the villages of Vodiane and Lebedynske in the Mariupol sector in the evening.
"There were no casualties among our defenders. In most cases, the shelling was short-term and explicitly provocative," the ATO HQ said.
