The head of state is awaiting the implementation of new solutions for more effective interception of Shahed strike drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Ukraine's air defense forces have recently demonstrated unsatisfactory performance in shooting down enemy aircraft.
As the head of state reported, he held a daily conference call during which reports were heard on the situation in Kyiv and the surrounding region, in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions, in Kropyvnytskyi and the surrounding region, as well as in the Vinnytsia region, the Dnipropetrovsk region, in Zaporizhzhia, in communities on the border with Russia and near the front line.
"I consider the work of the Air Force in some regions of Ukraine to be unsatisfactory, and I discussed with the commander of the Air Force and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine what decisions should be implemented immediately to more effectively shoot down the 'Shaheds'," Zelenskyy emphasized.
In addition, reports were given on the restoration of energy supplies and support for people in the Kharkiv region.
"The situation in Kyiv remains difficult, with more than 1,200 homes in various districts of the capital without heating. More support is needed for people from such homes. I have instructed that digital tools be used to identify and analyze the specific needs of people and communities in real time," the president said.
At the same time, according to the president, the head of Ukrzaliznytsia reported on the consequences of Russian strikes on logistics.
"These strikes have not stopped for a single day, and during January there was a significant increase in Russian strikes specifically on the railway. I am grateful to all railway workers for the prompt restoration and maintenance of the railway," Zelenskyy said.
According to Zelenskyy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported on the mobilization of the necessary forces to restore and operate support and heating points. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal reported on the schedule for commissioning cogeneration facilities. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko reported on the implementation of government support programs, in particular the program with heating packages - we will expand this program.
According to the UNIAN news agency, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi recently reported on the creation of a new command for unmanned air defense systems.
On January 19, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov noted the importance of implementing the task of creating a Ukrainian anti-drone dome. The corresponding system should destroy enemy drones as they approach specific targets.
