A commentator on Kremlin-controlled TV channel Rossiya 1 has claimed that the Ukrainian military in east of Ukraine were “bathing in babies’ blood.”
The guest of a prime time TV show, a founder of an anti-Ukrainian liberation movement, also said that Ukraine’s police force are actually far-right extremist fighters of the nationalist Right Sector organization.
Similar bogus claims on pro-Kremlin Russian mass media have already been exposed by activists. Earlier in July a lurid report, backed by no witnesses, of Ukrainian troops crucifying a three-year-old boy in front of his mother in Slovyansk on Russian First Channel was broadcasted as a fact, Ukraine Today informed.
Despite civic efforts to unmask deception in Russia’s media, a November Levada Center survey suggests 60% of Russians believe the Russian media's line on events in Ukraine.
