The authorities in the UK have decided to tighten security measures on some parts of the border in the wake of Wednesday’s terror attack in Paris.
In particular, security will be stepped up in ports and those railway stations where trains from France are scheduled to arrive. The British authorities stress that there is no threat at the moment, and the measures adopted are of a preventive nature, the BBC reports.
As reported earlier, on Wednesday morning gunmen attacked the office in Paris of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, opening fire on people who were there. Twelve people were killed in the attack, including four cartoonists of the publication, two policemen and a journalist for France Inter radio. Another 11 people were wounded.
