U.S. President Barack Obama should reconsider his position on military assistance to Ukraine and begin deliveries of more serious weapons, Democratic Senator Christopher Murphy said on the U.S. television’s CNN channel on Sunday, according to Russian information agency RIA Novosti.
"I believe that the White House should reconsider the possibility of the delivery to Ukrainians U.S. defense weapons on a more serious level. This will help them in the fight, which isn’t going to end in the near future," Murphy said.
"We have to continue to insist that the White House supports this view, because economic sanctions against Russia are not achieving their goals," he said.
The senator also said he supported the actions of the Ukrainian government.
