Catherine Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a girl at a London hospital on Saturday morning, Kensington Palace announced.
"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am," Kensington Palace wrote on Twitter. "The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. "
This is the second child for Prince William and Catherine after their son, Prince George, who was born in July 2013.
The newest addition will be fourth-in-line to the throne, bumping William's brother, Prince Harry, to fifth place, CNN reported.
