Russian court sentences Tatar activist to three years in prison for criticism of the Kremlin

A Russian court in Tatarstan has sentenced Rafis Kashapov, a Tatar activist, to three years in prison on charges of “inciting ethnic hatred,” for criticizing Russia's military intervention in Ukraine and annexing the Crimean peninsula, according to Ukraine Today.

He was arrested in 2014 following publication of his article online criticizing Moscow's illegal annexation of Crimea, Ukraine Today reported.
