Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a telephone conversation and discussed the possibility of placing the Russian airbase in Belarus, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Monday, Russian information agency RIA Novosti has reported.
"The two presidents were discussing various aspects of this issue. The discussion in a constructive spirit will continue at the CIS summit in Kazakhstan," said Peskov.
According to Putin's press secretary, the discussion of this issue will continue in Astana.

It is reported that Putin will visit Kazakhstan on October 15-16, to take part in the meetings of the Council of the CIS leaders and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
