The breakthrough victory of France's far-right National Front in a round of local elections could shake up the country's political landscape before the 2017 presidential vote, according to Ukraine Today.
But whatever the outcome in the second round ballot this Sunday, media outlets predict Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Front, is here to stay, as she is using to her advantage the national mood of fear and anger over the recent terrorist attacks, Ukraine Today reports.
The National Front's victory has been largely celebrated in Russia. The party's founder and Marine Le Pen's father Jean-Marie is known to have ties in Moscow. During his time as the party leader he visited top Russian officials.
