NATO-Russian ties are tense amid Ukraine crisis and recent military encounters in the Baltic Sea, however NATO says it doesn't have a goal to provoke Russia, according to Ukraine Today.
The White House spokesman Josh Earnest claims the alliance wants to cooperate with the Kremlin. But Moscow's involvement in Ukrainian conflict creates a rift in their relations, Ukraine Today reports.
Ukraine is not a part of NATO, but it shares common borders with its members. Earnest says the alliance is worried about the situation in its neighbouring state.
