Russia on Friday denied Georgian accusations that its aircraft had bombed targets in Georgia amid heavy fighting in the breakaway region of South Ossetia, a foreign ministry spokesman told AFP.
"This is nonsense, rubbish.... The information that Russian aircraft have flown into Georgia and that a Russian plane has been shot down does not correspond to reality," the spokesman said. AFP
