Nearly two dozen people died Sunday at a World Cup qualifying match in the Ivory Coast, news reports said, according to CNN.

Citing the nation`s interior minister, various news agencies reported 22 people were killed after a wall collapsed at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium in Abidjan just before the match between Ivory Coast and Malawi. Other news organizations reported 19 were killed.

The accident happened as people were heading into the stadium, reports said. More than 130 people were injured, reports said.

Long queues occur in the Ivory Coast for football matches because fans frequently do not adhere to the numerical seating system on tickets, according to Goal.com. Fans can wait for hours to try and win a prize seat, the Web site reported.

Ivory Coast won the match, 5-0.
