The U.S. Congress has requested that journalists and other staff of the Russian propaganda TV channel, RT, hand back over to the press center their accreditation cards allowing access to the Congress and the Senate, according to the BBC's Russian service.
According to the statement, the decision to revoke the accreditation of RT journalists was made on November 21 after a secret ballot held at the committee. It came into effect immediately, BBC Russian service reported.
The Congress Management Committee said that, according to their internal regulations, agents or representatives of foreign governments are not eligible for accreditation.

As reported earlier, on November 10, 2017, RT registered with the U.S. Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent.
