Tymoshenko to visit Estonia in spring this year

Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyrya held a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Urmas Paet, according to the government’s press-office.

The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, in the sphere of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

Hryhoriy Nemyrya thanked Estonia for supporting Eurointegration aspirations of Ukraine and reported that already next week Ukraine launches negotiations on the creation of overall deep free trade area with the European Union.

“We highly appreciate readiness of the Estonian side to share practical experience in integration to the EU and NATO, carrying out political and economic reforms,” the Vice Prime Minister stressed.

In his turn, Urmas Paet congratulated Ukraine on accession to the World Trade Organization and assured that Estonia would continue to support Ukraine heading toward the European Union.

“We are very glad that Ukraine became a WTO member. If any of our experience can be useful for you we are open and ready to share it with Ukraine,” the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Estonia said.

The sides confirmed intention of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko to visit Estonia in spring this year.

Urmas Paet invited also Hryhoriy Nemyrya to visit Estonia in the nearest future.

Note: During 11 months of 2007 commodity turnover between two states amounted to 333,07 million USD (increased by 44,5% as compared with the same period of 2006), at that, Ukrainian export of goods to Estonia amounted to 195,51 million USD that is by 78,4% more than for 11 months of 2006, and Estonia’s import of goods to Ukraine amounted to 137,56 million USD that is by 13,3% more than for 11 months of 2006. Positive balance for Ukraine reached 57,95 million USD.
