Unemployment rate in Ukraine grows by 1.3% in Feb

The average sum of the unemployment compensation in February 2018 was UAH 2,357, or US$90.65, per capita.

The number of the unemployed in Ukraine increased by 1.3% in February 2018 from January 2018, to 383,700 people.

The unemployed registered with the State Employment Service accounted for 1.5% of the working age population, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service.

In February, the number of the unemployed among the urban population was 199,000 people and those among rural population were 184,700 people. There were 200,500 unemployed women and 183,200 unemployed men in February 2018.

The average sum of the unemployment compensation in February 2018 was UAH 2,357, or US$90.65, per capita against UAH 2,483, or US$95.5, in January 2018.

In February 2018, the number of job openings was 71,800. There were five applicants per vacancy.

The data did not include reports from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, as well as the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in the east of Ukraine.
