Ukrainian Railways annonuces first tenders for Kyiv-Boryspil Airport line

The rail line will connect Kyiv's central railway station and the Boryspil International Airport.

Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsya) through its South-West Railway regional branch announced two tenders within the framework of the renewed project to create a rail line between the capital of Ukraine and the Boryspil Airport.

The first tender, where the estimated cost of works amounts to UAH 112.67 million, is divided into two lots, avianews.com reports citing Prozorro electronic state procurement platform.

The first lot includes the construction of trestle supports with a deadline set for September 30, 2018. Their estimated cost is UAH 103 million. Within the second lot, Ukrzaliznytsya seeks to procure works on installing metal span structures worth up to UAH 9.67 million. The deadline is October 31, 2018.

The second tender at UAH 17.02 million provides for the purchase of painting and reinforcing metal span structures with a deadline set for August 31, 2018.

The minutes of meeting say the line will run from Kyiv's central railway station through the Vydubychi and Darnytsia stations to the Boryspil International Airport.

By June 1, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia and Boryspil airport are supposed to have taken the required organizational and technological measures to prepare and start construction.

According to the previously presented plans, 11 PESA 620M railbuses designed to carry 91 passengers will run along the line. Another two 630M PESA railbuses will carry 192 passengers each.

Today, these railbuses run on Ukrzaliznytsia's regional lines.
