National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine says it hopes that Germany's position on the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project, voiced by Chancellor Angela Merkel, will help other EU member states to determine their stance on the construction of the gas pipeline.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Merkel said at a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on April 10 that she defends Ukraine's gas interests before Putin. According to the chancellor, Ukraine should not lose its significance as a gas transit country because of the Nord Stream 2 construction.
