The Armed Forces of Ukraine have conducted firing drills involving BMP-1AK infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) supplied from Poland within the military and technical cooperation program between the two countries.

Journalists who came to see the equipment and its capabilities were allowed to have a ride alongside crews, Ukraine's state-run military-industrial concern Ukroboronprom wrote on Facebook, April 17.

According to the military, the IFVs have minimum mileage and barrel wear.

"In the past month alone, the brigade has driven [IFVs] over 500 kilometers and conducted about two dozen firing exercises. But even despite such active operations, there were no complaints or technical malfunctions," the concern said in a statement.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian-made drones, the Spectator-M, had been employed to patrol the de-facto administrative border between mainland Ukraine and Russian-occupied Crimea. They are set to monitor both the maritime and land border section, according to Ukrainian border guards.
