Sunflower oil output in Ukraine down by 12.8% in Q1 2018

The output in March 2018 alone shrank by 2.5% from February 2018.

Production of crude sunflower oil in Ukraine in January-March 2018 (Q1) was 1.279 million tonnes, which was 12.8% down year-over-year (y-o-y).

The output of sunflower oil in March 2018 alone shrank by 2.5% from February 2018, the State Statistics Service said.

Production of margarines and edible fats in January-March of 2018 increased by 4.3% y-o-y, to 38,100 tonnes, while the output of this produce in March 2018 alone grew by 10.7% from February 2018.

The State Statistics Service said that the data excluded reports from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, as well as Russian-occupied Donbas in the east of Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, production of crude sunflower oil in Ukraine in 2017 totaled 5.21 million tonnes, which was 17% up y-o-y.
