Ukraine's largest tire plant in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, has caught fire a few days after its shareholders decided to shut the production facility down.

The fire started in a warehouse of PrJSC Rosava car tire plant, dtp.kiev.ua, an emergency news outlet, has reported on Facebook. The incident began at 17:34 local time on May 3.

The fire, which covered an area of 1,000 square meters, was extinguished at 20:40 local time on May 3.

The number of victims of the incident grew from two to three persons, the press service of the State Emergency Situations Service in Kyiv region said. According to preliminary reports, they are plant workers.

The cause of the fire has not been established yet.

Rosava's shareholders decided at a general meeting on April 30 to close the plant, the enterprise said in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and the Stock Market Commission.

UNIAN memo. Rosava is Ukraine's largest producer of car tires. The plant has been working since 1972. Its products include tires for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, farming equipment. Half of Rosava's produce is sold in Ukraine and half is exported to the CIS, Europe and the rest of the world.

The enterprise is part of the group of companies belonging to Member of Parliament Kostiantyn Zhevaho.
