Sanctions were also imposed on a number of officials from the Russian-occupied Crimea.
Ukraine has imposed personal sanctions against fugitive Ukrainian oligarch Serhiy Kurchenko, former business partner of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych, persons who hold offices as "energy ministers" in the so-called "Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics" ("DPR"/"LPR"), as well as Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.

According to the supplement to presidential decree No. 126/2018 of May 14, enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of May 2, 2018 'On the introduction and cancellation of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)," ex-owner of the East European Fuel and Energy Company (VETEK) group, Serhiy Kurchenko, has been slapped with sanctions. He is forbidden to withdraw his companies' capital from Ukraine, carry out transactions with securities, as well as obtain permits and licenses of the National Bank for investment. Moreover, all his assets are blocked across Ukraine.
The sanction list also includes the following persons: "Deputy Head of the committee on industrial policy, transport, and fuel and energy complex of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea" Sergey Vlasov, "Energy Minister of the Republic of Crimea" Vadim Belik, "DPR Coal and Energy Minister" Aleksey Granovsky, "LPR Coal and Energy Minister" Dmitry Lyamin, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Andrey Cherezov, State Secretary at Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia Stevica Dedjanski, official representative of Lukoil CEO in Ukraine Sergey Chmikhalov, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, Deputy Director of Chornomornaftogaz Vasiliy Rogatin, and member of the board of directors of Russia's SIBUR petrochemical holding Kirill Shamalov.
Miller was banned from withdrawing capital and entering Ukraine. His assets in Ukraine were blocked.
