Dzhankoi and Krasnoperekopsky districts added up to the list of areas in the Russian-occupied Crimea where the de-facto authorities declared the state of emergency amid a severe drought, according to the Kremlin-controlled Crimean agriculture ministry.

The officials also noted that the state of emergency has already covered six districts across the peninsula, Nv.ua reports citing Kryminform.

In early June, the drought forced the authorities to make relevant announcements in Krasnogvardeyskiy, Nizhnehorskiy, Pervomaiskiy, and Sovietsky districts.

In late May, the self-styled head of the occupation administration, Sergei Aksenov, said that the damage Crimean farmers had suffered from spring drought totaled over RUB 1 million.
