Exports of metal products rose by 34% to $540 million.
Ukrainian steelmakers in January-June 2018 (H1) increased revenues from ferrous metals exports by 35% year-over-year (y-o-y) to US$5.397 billion, with their share in the country's exports at 23.21%.
Exports of metal products rose by 34% to $540 million, accounting for 2.32% of the country's total exports, the State Fiscal Service (SFS) of Ukraine said.
Ukraine shipped abroad ferrous metals worth $959 million in June 2018 alone, while metal products exports totaled $95.4 million.

At the same time, imports of ferrous metals (in monetary terms) grew by 25.5% over the six months y-o-y, to $629 million, whereas those of metal products were estimated at $410.9 million, which was 13% up y-o-y.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine increased revenue from ferrous metals exports by 19.6% in 2017, to $8.3 billion. At the same time, the foreign exchange earnings from metal products exports grew by 30%, to $896.7 million.
