Chairman of Volyn Regional Council, a member of the UKROP Party's presidium Ihor Palytsa warns that Ukraine's industry is on the verge of survival due to inflated tariffs on energy resources.
"Power rates in Ukraine are already higher than those in Europe. The government does not allow industrialists to get foreign currency from abroad. Instead, it makes the domestic economy badly dependent on credits, forcing to sell land and timber and ousting Ukrainians to seek a better life abroad," he said on Facebook.

"We have become hostages of the people who came to power in 2014. Today's leadership of Ukraine does not allow the country to develop," the official stressed.
He noted that the incumbent government had virtually destroyed the Ukrainian economy. The country's industry is on the verge of survival because of skyrocketing tariffs on energy resources. While the companies of oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, who controls almost 60% of Ukraine's electricity market, receive super profits, major industrial enterprises are shutting down one by one.
Today, five out of the country's six oil refineries are not operating. Ferroalloy and aluminum production facilities are completely halted. As a result, the economy loses revenue from Ukrainian exports.
In his words, the incumbent authorities' arbitrariness is sometimes greater than the appetites of fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych's allies. Palytsa claims that, for example, the market of liquefied gas in Ukraine has come under full control of President Petro Poroshenko and his business partner Viktor Medvedchuk. The deliberate blocking of alternative supplies of liquefied gas equalized its price with that of petrol, which is traditionally more expensive.
"Even what [oligarch Serhiy] Kurchenko did during Yanukovych's regime cannot be compared with what Poroshenko and Medvedchuk are doing in the supply of liquefied gas to Ukraine now," he summed up.
