Ukraine's acting finance minister Oksana Markarova says the country is nearing a deal with the International Monetary Fund to help resume its $17.5 billion bailout.
Since Markarova's appointment, the issue of IMF gas talks has become one of the "key priorities to resume and move actively with the IMF in our talks," she told "Bloomberg Surveillance" in London.
The acting minister noted the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the law on the anti-corruption court, which she hopes the IMF will soon confirm is in line with the Fund's cooperation program with Ukraine.
"I think we have very good discussions at the moment," Markarova said.

"On the budget and gas prices we're having very constructive discussions which I hope will constructively end soon," the acting minister added.
She also noted the country's enhanced performance of state budget targets.
"When we have started discussions earlier, we had first quarter results, now we have 6 months results which are better than what we have expected in the first quarter," the acting finance minister said.

Asked directly, when she believes Ukraine will be able to get the next IMF tranche, Markarova said: "We're doing everything possible on our part to do this quicker. You know, the tranche goes to the NBU reserves and not to the budget, but our other budget financing is dependent on that so we are doing everything possible to do it as quickly as possible. I wouldn’t name a date right now but I hope it's going to be soon."
