The prime minister is interested in the process to be open, transparent and competitive.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says the sale of smaller-scale companies which are not strategic for Ukraine's economy is being launched this week via the ProZorro procurement system.
"Our government started this process for the first time. I am interested in making everything open, transparent and competitive. I'm saying this to the whole country. For ages, it was like this: facilities that are not strategic for the economy were maintained to maybe sell them one day and buy something else…. We are changing this, breaking the old system and entering the data into ProZorro [e-procurement system]. Now, any entrepreneur will be aware of what's been put on sale, so they will be able to buy the right building or some facility without contacting district or regional authorities," the Cabinet's press service quoted the prime minister as saying during his visit to Kyiv-based ProZorro HQ on July 24.
According to Groysman, effective sales of state assets mean great support for small and medium-sized businesses as they give impetus to the development of economy and communities.

"I see my task in supporting the [ProZorro] team with all tools available, so that we shift the layers of problems that had not been addressed for a decade making the country weaker. Now we have an excellent opportunity. Let the sales start from the first 18 lots. Then there will be thousands of them. Our task is to make the 'future' come as soon as possible," he added.
As UNIAN reported, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers on May 10 adopted a package of resolutions aimed at launching the sale of small-scale privatization facilities in Ukraine.
On March 28, the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) approved the list of almost 660 small-scale privatization facilities that are subject to sale in 2018. The SPF expects to get from UAH 1.5 billion to UAH 1.7 billion from the sale of the said facilities.
The group of small privatization includes real estate, small businesses, the nominal value of which does not exceed UAH 250 million.
In early July, ten electronic platforms were accredited for small-scale privatization.
