Head of the State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine Vitaliy Trubarov says almost UAH 720 million (US$27.4 million) from the lease of state property in the six months of 2018 (H1) was transferred to the country's national budget.
"We must avoid the practice when state-owned property is standing empty and collapsing. I once again emphasize that ministries and departments should more actively lease the property if it is not used as intended," he wrote on Facebook.
The H1 amount accounted for 72% of the annual target.
The official also added that the fund received UAH 138 million ($5.3 million) in June 2018 alone.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Trubarov promised at a government meeting in May 2018 to implement the annual state property lease plan (UAH 1 billion/$38.1 million) during summer 2018.
Revenue from the lease of state property in 2017 amounted to UAH 1.52 billion ($57.9 million).
