The banking sector in the year's first half earned UAH 8.3 billion in profit.
The banking sector of Ukraine in the second quarter of 2018 (Q2) got UAH 0.4 billion in losses due to significant allocations to the reserves of a large bank.
As a result of the transition to IFRS 9, one of the largest banks has increased losses of previous years by UAH 16.7 billion, but this did not affect its regulatory capital, as reported on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine.
It is also reported the banking sector has earned UAH 8.3 billion in profit for the first half of the year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian solvent banks in January-May 2018 received UAH 12.812 billion in profit, which was twice the figure at UAH 6.851 billion year-over-year.
Ukraine's banking system posted a total of UAH 24.4 billion in losses in 2017 due to the significant amount of allocations for the country's reserves.
