Household subsidy debts estimated at US$297.6 mln as of July 1 – Ukraine's Accounting Chamber

The Chamber warned about risks of failure to provide the relevant payments in full by the end of the year.

The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine says debts for benefits and subsidies paid to Ukrainian households to compensate housing and utilities tariffs were estimated at UAH 8.3 billion (US$297.6 million) as of July 1.

Overdue debts accounted for 60% of the sum.

In January-June 2018, a subvention sum, accounting for 77% of the annual budget plan, was transferred to provide benefits and housing subsidies, according to the Chamber's website, referring to the analysis of the national budget fulfilment in the first half of 2018.

Taking into account the indicators, the Chamber warned about risks of failure to provide the relevant payments in full before the end of the year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Accounting Chamber, based on the analysis of indicators in the first half of 2018, noted the risks of failure to fulfill the national budget for 2018. The plan for revenue of the national budget's general fund in the first half of the year was not fulfilled by UAH 15 billion ($538 million), while delayed payment of wages to Ukrainian workers at enterprises grew to UAH 2.7 billion ($96.8 million), the largest amount since 2010.
