"The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has calculated the average customs value of imported natural gas that was formed during customs clearance from September 1 to September 30, 2018. It was UAH 8,490.3, or $304.4, per 1,000 cubic meters," Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry said on its website on October 4 with reference to the fiscal service.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the average price of imported natural gas paid by Ukraine in August 2018 was estimated at $286.65 per 1,000 cubic meters.
In April this year, the average price of imported gas exceeded the $300 level for the first time in three years, since May 2015.
According to Article 49 of Ukraine's Customs Code the customs value of goods is defined as the cost of goods used for customs purposes, based on the price actually paid or to be paid for the goods, which usually includes the cost of goods, insurance cost and transportation cost.
