Restoration of exports of Ukrainian metal as well as the lifting of restrictions on trade in agricultural products and wood would contribute to such growth.

Ukraine and Belarus are able to increase trade turnover up to $10 billion, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said, speaking at the First Forum of Regions in Gomel, Belarus.

"If the annual growth rate is 23%, then it is more or less acceptable and reaches the figures that we have agreed with you. And this year, we hope that it will be 5.3 billion, next year - at least 7 billion," said the president.

"I'm sure that we could easily double our turnover. And the figure of $10 billion is quite real," said Poroshenko.

"To a large extent the restoration of exports of Ukrainian metal to the Republic of Belarus, as well as the lifting of restrictions on trade in agricultural products and wood would contribute to this," the Ukrainian leader stressed.

Poroshenko said the agreement was reached with his Belarusian counterpart to urgently instruct the governments to create a working group to "clear all the antidumping restrictions, clear any obstacles that hinder mutual trade.”
