Solvent banks' assets up by US$498 mln in Sept – NBU

As of October 1, 2018, the number of solvent licensed banks in Ukraine amounted to 81 financial institutions.

Assets of solvent banks in Ukraine in September 2018 alone grew by UAH 14.051 billion (US$498 million), or by 1%, to UAH 1.355 trillion ($48 billion).

Their assets have grown by 1.6% or by UAH 21.370 billion ($757.8 million) since the beginning of the year, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

The banks' liabilities rose by 1.5% in September 2018, growing by 3.2% over the nine months of the year, to UAH 1.211 trillion ($42.9 billion).

Their capital was 10.3% down over the nine months of 2018, including a 2.8% decline in September, to UAH 144.6 billion ($5.1 billion).

As of October 1, 2018, the number of solvent licensed banks in Ukraine amounted to 81 financial institutions, as in the previous month.

As UNIAN reported earlier, assets of solvent banks in Ukraine in 2017 rose by UAH 80 billion ($2.8 billion), or by 6.4%, to UAH 1.336 trillion ($47.4 billion).
