Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has urged the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, to speed up consideration in the second reading of the bill on a business ombudsman.
"In order to properly protect the rights of honest businesses, the parliament should speed up consideration in the second reading of the law on a business ombudsman. This will add transparency and efficiency in protecting property rights in Ukraine," Poroshenko said at a Wednesday meeting with Ukrainian and foreign businesses.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in May 2016, the Verkhovna Rada passed in the first reading a bill introducing at the legislative level in Ukraine the institution of business ombudsman as a permanent instrument for protecting business in the country, as well as controlling regulatory authorities and regulatory activities of the state.
