Ukraine's Fiscal Service reports about first legalized cars with foreign registration

Spokesperson for the State Fiscal Service (SFS) of Ukraine Natalia Nepriakhina says 74 cars with European license plates earlier brought into Ukrainian customs territory on temporary importation or transit terms without payment of customs clearance have been legalized under newly introduced customs clearance rules since November 26.

Most of such cars, namely 55 vehicles, have undergone customs clearance procedures in Chernivtsi region, Nepriakhina said, as reported by the Ukrainian online newspaper ZN.UA on December 2.

A total of UAH 4.675 million (US$164,671) has been sent to the national budget. This amount includes UAH 119,000 ($4,192) in fines for violating the rules of the temporary importation of cars or their transit.

As was earlier reported, laws Nos. 8487 and 8488 on customs clearance of imported cars with foreign registration came into force in Ukraine on November 25.
